GIS Consultant
Our client is searching for a GIS Consultant. The work activities expected will typically be a function of the individual’s experience, specific skills, and subject matter expertise. This will also be a function of the requirements of the business in respect of customer needs.

The role will include some of the following activities (depending on the specific requirements of individual engagements):

Implementing desktop, web and mobile solutions which utilise the ArcGIS Platform.
Provide expertise, advice, guidance and support to customers in the use of clients technology.
Working either individually or as part of a team to implement, configure or customise software and software components to meet the requirements of nominated projects.
Designing, developing, and deploying custom applications using key developer technologies (Python, Javascript, C# etc.)
Consulting with clients (either individually or as part of a team) to understand requirements and then implementing GIS-based solutions to meet those requirements.
Estimating and delivering specified work packages to time and budget.
To understand the scope of a project, or a specific work activity, and work to this.
Efficiently leveraging common components, solutions and services to meet key project goals.
Developing a strong relationship with customers and acting as a ‘trusted advisor’.
Identifying potential opportunities for new business and raising with the Project Manager/Customer Success Manager.
Developing and maintaining current knowledge of the latest trends in GIS and associated technology and business applications.
Providing technical input and guidance to business development and sales opportunities, including contributing to proposals and tender responses.
Providing regular updates on progress, status, and risk on customer projects and other work activities.
To evangelise about the latest capabilities of the ArcGIS Platform and drive usage and adoption.
Applying best-practice industry principles to all work activities.

Experience:-
The role requires an individual with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in the role of GIS consultant, software engineer or similar, with hands-on experience in the use, configuration and deployment of technology. A passion for GIS with a good understanding of the latest trends in GIS and IT is also desirable.

Professional Accreditations:-
Ideally the individual will have a degree in geography, GIS or Computer Sciences or relevant industry based experience. An MSc in a relevant subject is desirable but not essential.

Other Relevant Factors:-
All employees are also expected to help and collaborate with colleagues when necessary, or work on temporary projects outside of their group, within their domain of expertise.
The role will require working at customer locations, travel, and may take the job holder away from home.
The individual may be asked to obtain Security Clearances.
